Gerald Ford

Gerald Rudolph Ford was served as the 38th President of the United State. As the first person selected to the vice-presidency under the terms of the 25th Amendment, when he became President upon Richard Nixon's resignation on August 9, 1974, he also became the only President of the United States who was selected neither President nor Vice-President. Ford signed the Helsinki Accords, marking a travel toward detente in the Cold War. Ford presided over what was then the bad economy since the Great Depression, with growing inflation and a collapse during his tenure. Ford’s incumbency, foreign policy was characterized in practical terms by the increased role Congress began to play, and by the equivalent curb on the powers of the President. He lived longer than any U.S. president, dying at the age of 93 years and 165 days.

Richard Nixon

Richard Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994) was the 37th President of the United States from 1969–1974 and was also the 36th Vice President of the United States (1953–1961). Nixon was the only President to resign the office and also the only person to be chosen twice to both the Presidency and the Vice Presidency.

Nixon was born in Yorba Linda, California, USA. After completing his scholar work at Whittier College, he graduated from Duke University School of Law in 1937 and returned to California to practice law in La Habra. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, he joined the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific theater, and rose to the rank of Lieutenant leader during World War II.

He was selected in 1946 as a Republican to the House of Representatives representing California's 12th Congressional district, and in 1950 to the United States Senate. He was selected to be the running mate of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Republican Party candidate, in the 1952 Presidential election, becoming one of the youngest Vice Presidents in history.
